Q: Why should our firm subscribe to this instead of using "pay-as-you-go" options? A: Consistency and risk mitigation. By making these tools a standard part of your subscription, you ensure that every matter—and every client—is protected by default. This creates a firm-wide standard of due diligence that satisfies Law Society/FINTRAC requirements and provides superior protection against the rising tide of real estate fraud.
Treefort Core IDV (Pre-Closing Security)
Q: How many IDV requests do I get per matter? A: The subscription includes two (2) Treefort Core IDVs per matter. This allows you to verify two separate parties (e.g., a husband and wife, or a borrower and a guarantor) at no additional per-use cost.
Q: What is the difference between Treefort "Core" and "Complete"?

Treefort Core IDV: Authenticates government ID, performs biometric facial liveness checks, and cross-references credit bureau/mobile data. It is the gold standard for standard transactions.

Treefort Complete: Includes all Core features plus Banking Verification (via Flinks). This is recommended for high-risk private lending or clients completely unknown to the firm.
Q: How does the data get into Prolegis? A: It’s automatic. Once the client completes the 5-minute process on their smartphone, their verified Name, DOB, and Address—along with the certified PDF report—sync directly back to your Prolegis matter.
TitleProtect (Continuous Property Security)
Q: When does TitleProtect monitoring actually happen? A: It provides a "lifecycle" of security across three phases:

Pre-Closing: Monitors for new encumbrances or liens that appear after your initial search but before closing.

Closing: Ensures no "gap" registrations occur during the high-stakes closing window.

Post-Closing: Acts as a 24/7 "silent sentry" long after the keys are handed over, alerting you to "zombie mortgages" or fraudulent transfers.
Q: How are we notified of a title change? A: If TitleProtect detects any registration activity on a monitored property, an alert is sent immediately to the firm. This allows you to intercept fraudulent activity before it becomes irreversible.

Q: How do I enable this subscription for my firm? A: If these options are not currently active in your matter header, existing customers can activate them by reaching out to our success team:

Q: Does this require my clients to download an app? A: No. For Treefort IDV, clients receive a secure link via SMS or email and complete the process in their mobile browser. For TitleProtect, the monitoring is handled entirely in the background between Prolegis and the land registry; the client does not need to do anything.
Q: Do I need to migrate any data to start using these tools? A: No. Once the subscription is active, these tools appear as options within your existing matters. You can begin protecting your current files with a single click.
